The devasting winter storm that caused power grid failure, dangerous shortages, and fatal conditions across the state of Texas in February will have long-lasting impacts on those most vulnerable in the affected areas. To help with long-term relief and as an anti-hunger synod, the Southeastern Iowa Synod will be sending a gift to fight hunger as the recovery in Texas continues.

The money for the initial match of $7,000 has been achieved but ay additional gifts will be added to the total and sent directly to anti-hunger efforts.

The Office of the Bishop will be collecting gifts to be sent to the Southwestern Texas, Texas – Louisiana Gulf Coast, and Northern Texas-Northern Louisiana synods until March 26th, 2021. After this date, gifts can be sent to Lutheran Disaster Response.
