With the creation of the new position of Director for Communications, two colleagues will be completing their service in the Office of the Bishop at the end of June.
We give thanks for the partnership of Pastor Julie Higgs and Janelle Bidne, who have served faithfully and well on behalf of the Southeastern Iowa Synod.
As Assistant to the Bishop, Pastor Julie Higgs has worked closely with congregations and provides particular leadership in the areas of Candidacy and Rostered Leadership Support. Pastor Higgs is looking forward to becoming a parish pastor again, returning to the rhythm of congregational ministry.
Janelle Bidne has coordinated communications within the Office of the Bishop and provides additional administrative support. She is exploring other vocational options, hopefully in an area that utilizes both her creative skills and her care for others.
