Looking for a new way to focus on your personal wellness? A Journey of Renewal is an intensive, year-long wellness experience offered through the ELCA Board of Pensions to benefit ELCA rostered leaders for the sake of ministry. Its goals are to help you:
- explore your strengths, core values and God’s plan for you
- create a personal direction statement that articulates your goals for the year-long experience
- create a personal wellness plan that supports you as you live out your call to be a whole person of God
The time frame for deciding is short . . . registrations are due no later than December 15th!
This opportunity is for rostered leaders in the Southeastern Iowa and Western Iowa synods who recognize that healthy leaders enhance lives and are vital to the health of our congregations and synods. Using a combination of retreats and small group coaching (over the phone), you can explore, reflect, take action and grow your ability to live well in Christ over the course of one year. It will be work. It requires commitment and will stretch and challenge you to share in the health of this church, both personally and communally.
Please prayerfully consider this invitation, discern if you are ready to commit and make the time necessary to tend to your well-being and explore what it means to create a healthier ELCA. You must be able to attend both retreats (January 19-21, 2012 and January 17-19, 2013 at the Boulders Conference Center in Denison, IA) in order to participate in A Journey of Renewal.
If you are able to make this commitment, simply fill out the registration form below and send it along with a check for the program cost and the cost of the first retreat to the Western Iowa Synod office by Thursday, December 15. Once you are registered you will receive more information from the ELCA Board of Pensions. The opening gathering begins on Thursday, January 19 at 4:00.
