Deacon Jodi Schuman joins the Office of the Bishop in the role of Assistant to the Bishop for Candidacy and Operations
Deacon Jodi Schuman has accepted the call and will begin serving in this new role on April 6, 2021.
The Assistant to the Bishop for Candidacy and Operations is responsible for leading in areas of candidacy, governance, operations, and events.
- Supports and relates to synod candidates
- Facilitates the work of synod governance, synod council, and Synod Assembly
- Manages synod projects, operations, and events
As Assistant to the Bishop, Deacon Schuman will also be visiting and accompanying congregations of the Southeastern Iowa synod.
In sharing the news, Bishop Amy Current said, “I am delighted to welcome Deacon Schuman. Her gifts of administration, passion for congregational ministry, and her experience as synod treasurer equip her well for this role and will benefit the whole Southeastern Iowa Synod. I am delighted to welcome a Deacon to the Office of the Bishop too.”
Deacon Jodi Schuman most recently served Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, Iowa. She has also served as the Synod Treasurer since 2014.
