An early Christmas present has come in the form of a new office location for Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) at First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa.  A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 to celebrate the occasion.

LSI’s new Maquoketa office location will provide services that prevent child abuse and assist youth and families in crisis, such as short-term crisis intervention, therapy and behavioral and mental health services.

“We’re very excited to continue providing high-quality services to local children and families from our new location,” said Penny Ploog, LSI site manager. “We’re thankful for First Lutheran Church’s partnership in providing space and responding to the needs of the Maquoketa community and surrounding areas.”

Ploog cited the increase in home and community-based human services as the reason for the move.

“The majority of LSI’s services are delivered outside of the office setting,” she said. “Our new location allows us to be even more efficient with our resources, while still meeting the needs of the community.”

LSI will retain its current phone and fax numbers. The LSI Maquoketa office can be reached at 563.652.4150. Referrals for services can be made by parents, schools, law enforcement, mental health professionals, teachers, doctors, nurses and other community professionals.
