Visual art is deeply rooted in faith, and has been since the beginning of creation. We are offering an event to bring together people who are interested in the connection between Christian art and Christ’s mission.
You are invited to come – by yourself or with a team of up to four people from your congregation – to this day long workshop, Saturday, August 3, 2013. Do you need to be an “artist” to attend? No! Artists, pastors, administrators, church leaders, church volunteers – all who appreciate the arts are invited to this event.
The Commission for Evangelical Mission has gathered a team of experts who are leading Christian art ministries in their congregations to lead this event. Information will be shared using an experiential teaching model, and will cover topics such as: The importance of Christian art; a model process for starting a Christian arts ministry; programming ideas and resources; fellowship and networking; learning about ways and opportunities to use your creative gifts to build up the church; and exploring the possibility of establishing a Christian artist roster.
