Funds from the ELCA World Hunger Appeal are set aside annually for Domestic Hunger Grants. In 2012, $865,000 was awarded to projects in one of four areas: advocacy, development, community organizing, and relief. Seven grants were awarded to projects serving needs within the Southeastern Iowa Synod.
Applications for Domestic Hunger Grants for 2013 are now available online at www.elca.org/domestichungergrants. The deadline for applications is July 9, 2012. Application materials postmarked after the July 9 deadline will not be considered for funding in 2013.
