Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, Iowa has partnered with their community to create quilts and care kits for Lutheran World Relief. Recently, some members of the congregation had the opportunity to speak about their ministry with some local elementary school students to help with their emphasis on global citizenship this school year. During the visit, students were given the opportunity to design and color quilt squares for the mission group to use in their newest quilts.

Five quilts were assembled from the student’s squares and these quilts will be shipped to Lutheran World Relief warehouses in April. From there they will be distributed to those who need assistance around the world. A tracking code will be attached to each quilt so the students can follow their quilt square on their journey.
