Lutheran Day on the Hill

Lutheran Day on the Hill is February 19, 2019.  The morning will include a keynote address from Mikka McCracken from ELCA Hunger, and break out sessions on the three issues that will serve as the focus for conversations with legislators, including 1) Improving Iowa’s Medicaid Managed Care System, 2) Investing in a Strong Child Welfare Workforce, and 3) Supporting Refugee Community Services.  Information pages about these issues will be provided in advance here

Following a group picture and a free lunch at the Capitol, participants will be free to visit with their elected officials. You are encouraged to email them prior to your arrival to let them know you will be there and that you would like to visit with them as a part of Lutheran Day on the Hill.

Chartered buses will be stopping in Iowa City, and Newton. This opportunity is offered at no cost to attendees.

Sign-up to participate in Lutheran Day on the Hill today! You can find more detailed information and online registration at or by calling 866.584.5293.

Lutheran Day on the Hill has been made possible in part through a domestic hunger grant from ELCA Hunger. The three Iowa ELCA synods and Lutheran Services in Iowa are enthusiastic partners in this effort.
