In a world that has moved on to the 12 Days of Christmas the church finds itself still waiting. Waiting for the light of Christ to dawn on a weary world. Waiting for the promised Savior who will reconcile all nations and peoples. Waiting for a day where there will be no more tears, or anguish, or crying. Waiting.
Despite all the ways in which it seems like the darkness continues to prevail, ours is a joyful waiting.
We know that the Good News of Jesus Christ really does overcome all fear and darkness. That the peace of Christ can still even the most anxious soul. Your gift to the Southeastern Iowa Synod shows that our waiting is not passive, but active, believing that God is able to do so much more than we can ask or imagine. When we are #inthistogether, we know that God’s light is amplified more than any one of us could alone.
Your gifts this Giving Tuesday will allow us to continue our support of churchwide ministries, partner ministries and institutions, congregations and congregational leaders.
