The Southeastern Iowa Synod has joined the #GivingTuesday movement to highlight ministries in our synod that could use your financial support this giving season.
Coinciding with the Thanksgiving Holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday is a global day dedicated to inspiring people to give back to their communities and transform how people think, talk, and participate in the giving season.
On Tuesday, December 2, families, businesses, charities, and individuals will come together to celebrate generosity and to give back in a meaningful way. Last year, $57.4 billion was spent on consumer goods during the Thanksgiving holiday season. Imagine the impact that even a small fraction of that would have on the ministries of the church.
On Tuesday, Dec. 2 the Southeastern Iowa Synod is asking its congregations, members, and friends to remember four specific ministries in need of support this year. Givers are also encouraged to give to those and any other ministries that they believe can change the lives of others.
This year #GivingTuesday ministry focus is on:
- SEIA Mission Fund – Funding for the Synod to pursue the development of new congregations as well as renewing existing ones.
- SEIA Synod Fund for Leaders – The Synod’s scholarship fund used to support seminary students from the Southeastern Iowa Synod as they pursue their call to ministry.
- Pare Diocese Guest House Project – Financial support given to this project will help fund the building of a Guest House in the Pare Diocese, our companion synod in Tanzania.
- General Synod Support – Funding that is used to address the areas of greatest financial need in the Southeastern Iowa Synod.
Please prayerfully consider supporting these ministries this year on Tuesday, December 2.
