Lutheran Day on the Hill – Your Voice Can Change Lives
Lutheran Services in Iowa’s Lutheran Day on the Hill is taking place on March 12, 2012. This day is essential in giving a voice to those who are not heard, for seeking social justice and for empowering people to exercise their right and responsibility to be part of the legislative process.
People working together and speaking out can make social change happen.
Lutheran Day on the Hill 2012 will begin at Elim Christian Fellowship in Des Moines at 9:30 a.m. The morning will include brief advocacy training and stories of hope told by LSI clients. After lunch, the group of passionate advocates assembled will make its way to the Capitol to speak with legislators.
Enjoy fellowship on the Lutheran Day on the Hill bus to the Capitol.
Thanks to a grant from ELCA World Hunger, a charter bus will be leaving from Davenport and stopping in Iowa City and Newton on its way to Des Moines. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to get a ride to the event and enjoy fellowship with other advocates along the way. Space is limited so register today!
Strengthening our partnership in advocacy.
Lutheran Services in Iowa and the three Iowa Synods of the ELCA are working closely together to make Lutheran Day on the Hill bigger and better than ever. This event is a great example of the strength of this partnership, and how together we can have an even greater impact on the lives of the most vulnerable people in our state through our advocacy.
